Team to address risks climate change is posing to business world

2009-12-02 STOCKHOLM – Golder Associates Corporation (Golder) today announced that 6 members of its Climate Change Services team have been invited to attend the COP 15 conference in Copenhagen in December.

COP 15 (The United Nations Climate Change Conference) is the global gathering of politicians, scientists, NGOs, industry and UN representatives involved and interested in addressing the world’s challenges with respect to climate change.

The 10 day gathering will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark, between December 7th and 18th. As a signatory to the Copenhagen Communiqué, Golder has joined hundreds of companies from the global business community in asking for tangible actions by governments to help reduce the risks that businesses are facing with respect to climate change.

The Golder Climate Change Services team, consisting of representatives from Golder offices in South Africa, Italy, Canada, and Australia, will be present at the conference meeting with clients to gain an understanding of the risks that climate change is posing to their businesses and determine which of Golder’s climate change services can be of use to them.

Says Rob Hounsome, Leader of Golder’s Climate Change Services team, “The Copenhagen conference will be critical in defining how governments and businesses overcome the effects and business risks being caused by climate change. Golder’s presence at the conference is fundamental to helping us understand how to support our clients as they take on this challenge. We are looking to enhance our understanding of how climate change is affecting our clients in order to more effectively serve their needs.”

Mr. Hounsome and several other members of Golder’s Climate Change Services team will be available during the conference for media interviews to give their perspective on the conference and the business risks associated with climate change.
