UPM has launched digital printing papers at On Demand Expo in Moscow

UPM has pushed the market introduction of its range of digital printing papers to the Russian and Eastern European markets during the On Demand Expo in Moscow, from November 18–21, 2008.

The UPM DIGI printing paper range has been available on the European market since 2000, and was launched to North-America and Asia in 2008. “The On Demand Exhibition in Moscow is an ideal opportunity for us to address printers from the Russian and Eastern European markets who are interested in the opportunities that digital printing can offer,” outlines Frithjof Vorrath, Manager of the UPM DIGI Paper Business & Competence Centre. The On Demand Expo is the leading industry event for digital printing and takes place in the US, in Japan, China and Russia.

The UPM DIGI range is the widest range of digital printing papers available on the market, including both coated and uncoated fine papers, as well as magazine and newsprint papers for digital printing processes.

End users can select from a variety of surface finishes (gloss, silk and matt) and from a wide spectrum of basis weights, ranging from 40 to 350 g/m². The UPM DIGI range is designed for the most versatile digital end user sectors, such as personalized direct mailings, high quality advertising materials, transactional documents, books and newspapers, catalogues or magazines.

UPM DIGI includes 14 paper qualities, which fall into the following three categories:
• UPM DIGI FINE includes coated and uncoated papers from 70 to 350 g/m²
• UPM DIGI MAGAZINE includes mechanical magazine papers from 65 to 100 g/m²
• UPM DIGI NEWSPRINT is a range of newsprint quality papers for digital printing, from 40 to 55 g/m²

The range offers paper qualities for all of the common digital printing systems based on electrophotography or ink-jet technology, for b& w and colour, and various sizes such as cutsizes, folio sheets, Xeikon reels and reels with large diameters for digital web printing.
