Autumn brings many news to 10 year old Vasatherm
International growth with environmental friendly technology and domestic know-how
Ten years ago Vasatherm Finland Oy started its present activities. I want to thank all our customers and our partners for your fruitful co-operation and your confidence that has helped us to reach our present strong position in the field of Finnish ventilation.
2006 was a year of significant progress. An important step in our development was the start of our own production as Vasatherm Finland Oy was entitled to manufacture the Softflo products. Furthermore the stratifying ventilation technique of Vasatherm, ”Wall Confluent Jets”, was awarded the prize for the best idea in the contest Productive Idea 2006, among companies in the province of Uusimaa, southern Finland.
Changes were made in the management of the company. As the company had grown and reached its present strength I chose to become Chairman of the Board. Janne Jokivuori was appointed Managing Director.
The time has come to enter a new age. The field of ventilation is rapidly developing. Energy efficiency is more important than before and the demands of our customers become more and more diversified. We want to ensure our position in the future as the leading company in the field of stratifying ventilation. That is why we take new steps in developing our our activities during our second decade.
Vasatherm changes name to Stravent Oy
1.11.2007 we will begin to use our new name as it represents a better description of our export and our growing international market. It also describes our activities better as the company and its main technology use the same name. At present our export covers 20% of our sales. Our objective is to become one of the most significant companies on the European market for air outlets. Currently our products are exported to Sweden, Italy, England, Switzerland, Denmark and Estonia.
Solid experience represented in the Board
Having been a family company run with entrepreneurial spirit Vasatherm now strengthens its Board with new members.
This is made with the objective of supporting the decision-making of the operative management in a market situation with growing demands. The new members are well known professionals in our field: Per Gylling represents solid experience for the import of technology and for the wholesale as well as for the logistics.
The other new member of the Board is Tommy Jernberg who is very familiar with the export market for ventilation in Sweden and Europe. Tommy has been responsible for the management of Halton, Sweden, for more than 10 years.
Personnel arrangements
In order to support the present important situation of growth and sales, the following personnel arrangements have been made:
• Jorma Johansson, graduate engineer has been appointed development manager of the company. He will be responsible for the support of the functioning and energy friendliness of various technical issues.
• Elena Kaonpää, Master of Economics, has been appointed Economics Director of the company with effect from January 2nd 2008. Elena will be in charge of payroll services, reporting and bookkeeping. Furthermore she will support company management communications and act as secretary of the Board meetings.
I do believe that we, taking all these steps forwards, acquire a growing know-how for our development work that enables us to serve you more efficiently than before in the decisions you reach concerning ventilation.
I'll be happy to discuss any eventual question you might have concerning our new age and the changes it has brought about.
Best Regards
Timo Karkulahti
Chairman of the Board
