Stratifying ventilation to Moscow Arena

Vasatherm Finland Oy will deliver a stratifying S11 ventilation system to Moscow Arena. The delivery will include about 120 S11 nozzles to be installed in the ventilation systems of the upper grand stand. The system will be operational during the year of 2006. The contract exceeds the value of 90.000 €.

The ventilation of multifunction arenas with a great variety of utilization is considerably important for the satisfaction of the public, and to some extent also for the performance of the athletes.

The designers have, using CDF calculations, established that stratifying ventilation provides the best result bringing the (incoming) airflow beneath the transportable grand stands. The ventilation of the upper grand stands will have to support the overall solution. For that purpose the Vasatherm S11 nozzles provide the optimal solution. The advantage presented by the system is the effective mixing with the surrounding air without any negative impact of the ventilation on the ice.

This is the solution to be implemented in the new Moscow Arena, where the Championship 2007 will take place.

The smooth air flow within the entire occupied zone is due to the Softflo nozzle. The S11 moves smoothly with minimum turbulence. Due to the high reactive silencing effect of the nozzles the system is very silent.

The same techniqe has been implemented i.e. in the Tcherepovitch ice arena in Moscow.
