Upgraded website offers easy access to Univar's breadth and depth of chemical knowledge

Univar Ltd, the largest independent distributors of chemicals and associated services in the United Kingdom and Ireland, and a daughter company of Univar NV, has fully upgraded and enhanced the www.univar.co.uk website to reflect the breadth and depth of the company's activities. Based on Univar's principles of customer focus and industry knowledge, specific additions to the website include direct access to a wide range of product and industry literature, enhanced visitor enquiry mechanisms and improved electronic interaction with the industry experts at Univar.

With Univar's knowledge and experience in supplying its chemicals to a wide range of industries - from food, pharmaceuticals, personal care, natural resources, cleaning products, polymer and plastics, to paints and coatings, metallurgy and textiles - , the challenge was to facilitate customer access to a specific product or industry within a few mouse clicks. Thus a new, "cleaner" design has been used for the website, offering easy and intuitive navigation with the use of helpful "Quick links" to all areas of the site, as well as an enhanced "Search" function.

Visitors now have direct access to a wide range of literature on Univar's comprehensive offering to any specific industry. Information provided includes cross-industry solutions, detailed product lists and guide formulations. Aware that not all visitor curiosity can be satisfied at a click of a mouse, the new website further incorporates improved web-based interaction between Univar and users of the site. A newly-developed technical enquiry form is aimed at accelerating response times to web enquiries, whilst e-mail access to industry experts at Univar has been integrated into the "Contacts" sections of the site.

"The new site has been designed to interface with our internal systems, allowing customers to turn data into intelligence," said David Jukes, CEO Univar Ireland and UK. "We will continue to invest in internet technologies to enable even easier access into our knowledge base," he added.
