The new look Biogel Skinsense glove - the difference is clear

The world leader in surgical glove technology is launching an advanced, new look version of the Biogel Skinsense glove at The 4th Congress of the European Operating Room Nurses Association in Dublin, Ireland on 25-28th May 2006.

Biogel Skinsense is a sterile, powder-free, non-latex surgical glove designed for people who are at risk of, or have a known allergy to Natural Rubber Latex (NRL) proteins, or are aware that their patients have a known or suspected allergy to NRL proteins. Extremely low levels of residual accelerators in new Biogel Skinsense further reduces the risk of Type IV allergic reactions. Biogel Skinsense is made from a special synthetic elastomer, yet is similar to natural rubber latex in fit, feel and comfort.

The new Biogel Skinsense glove has changed from blue to a fleshtone colour to aid visibility for the wearer and reduce the distraction of reflective light during surgery. The glove also carries a new cuff marking that makes it easier to identify that it is a non-latex surgical glove.

Biogel Skinsense can now be used to form a double gloving puncture indication system when used with Biogel Skinsense Underglove. This system provides an immediate visual warning of glove puncture in the presence of fluid.

The Biogel Skinsense packaging has been re-designed to make glove selection simpler. All of the Biogel Skinsense range packs now carry a new Skinsense 'S' logo to denote that they are non-latex. The new colour coding and design elements make it even easier for the user to recognise each glove variant.
