On-Axis mirrors provide fast focusing & high energy density
Optical Surfaces Ltd., specialists in high precision optics and optical systems, has announced a new technical datasheet that describes its range of fast focus On-Axis Parabolic Mirrors
Downloadable as a pdf. file from www.optisurf.com/frame6.htm the datasheet describes the design features, high technical specifications and choice of options that have made OSL on-axis parabolas the mirrors of choice for many internationally renowned science, defence and space research establishments.
Benefiting from a stabilised manufacturing environment Optical Surfaces Ltd can, depending on the surface accuracy required, generate very fast focusing mirrors to f 0.5 using proprietary production techniques. Typical specifications achieved by Optical Surfaces highly experienced and skilled production team include mirrors up to 800 mm in diameter and surface accuracies of up to lambda/20 p-v dependant on diameter and f number.
In addition to achieving high energy densities OSL on-axis parabolic mirrors offer the advantage that they can be made to function at faster f-numbers than off-axis paraboloids. They are especially suitable for broadband or multiple wavelength applications due to their completely achromatic performance. A range of coatings is available ranging from metallic with or without protective overcoat to multilayer dielectrics and ultra hard coatings for high-power lasers.
Optical Surfaces ISO 9001-2000 approved manufacturing facility provides the flexible resources to supply from single specialist requirements to OEM quantities.
