DnB NOR is first in Norway to choose ReadSoft's latest solution for document handling
DnB NOR invests in the products Classify and Index from ReadSoft in order to automate the handling of millions of documents annually. Apart from cutting costs, the investment also gives the group the ability to provide even more effective service to its customers. The order, placed at the end of December 2008, is worth approximately US$500,000 for ReadSoft.
DnB NOR bank ASA is one of the Nordic leaders in banking, finance and insurance and has approximately 13,000 employees. The group has long been the clear market leader in Norway. Strong trademarks such as Nordlandsbanken, Cresco, Postbanken, DnB NORTH and Carlson, are all part of the DnB NOR group.
"The objective of this investment is to both ensure the quality of information and to streamline our processes. This in turn leads to greater efficiency throughout our organization," says managing consultant Sissel B. Nyheim, at DnB NOR bank ASA.
Together with ReadSoft's solutions for handling both invoice and forms, DnB NOR bank ASA has been using automatic data capture for years in its electronic archive solutions. Advances in new technology made evaluating ReadSoft's new solutions the natural choice, and now, the handling of document processes within the group will be even more effective.
Classify and Index make it possible to automatically separate, classify, capture and index information from incoming documents, and then send this information to an electronic workflow and/or archive. Plans are in the works for possible future development where the DnB NOR solution would grow to cover the bank's needs for handling incoming post, faxes and e-mail. ReadSoft is starting implementation immediately and counts on the solution being in operation by the first half of this year.
"We are extremely glad that DnB NOR has taken the strategic decision to invest in our latest solution for document handling," says ReadSoft's CEO Jan Andersson. "Our solution gives them the ability to improve the handling of important documents, and this will result in simpler, faster and more cost-effective processes throughout the group - an obvious competitive advantage in both the banking and insurance markets."
