A new, construction protected wheel solution for roll containers and dollies
Manner’s business idea is to develop value-added castor solutions according to our customers’ needs. Our new SAMBA wheel is a good example of this. SAMBA was developed to give the user more benefits, and at the same time to challenge the traditional sandwich wheel used widely in different applications.
Our tests show that the shock and sound absorbing construction developed in the labyrinth sealing of the wheel centre offers several advantages compared to other roll container wheels. SAMBA has proved to be gentle on its housing, thus increasing the working life of the trolley and eliminating the need for maintenance.
Protects the swivel bearing (swivel head) in the fork more than an ordinary polyamide or sandwich wheel; the impact against the swivel bearing is smaller than usual because of the shock absorbing construction in the wheel.
The features of the bearing (small play, sensitiveness) in the Samba-wheel with ball bearing are not diminished in use like in corresponding wheels with roller bearing.
The feature of providing resistance to impact stress benefits the container; the load moves/jumps less and this stresses the container less. The stable load also ensures quieter container performance.
Durable construction: the shock absorbing material is a fixed part without any mechanical joints. This insures that the materials do not move/wear and no abrasion or loosening of materials appears and the wheel retains its’ shape:
• smooth and even rolling
• the rolling resistance keeps low
• protects the container
Light weight; clearly lighter than traditional sandwich wheels – benefits the environment.
The wheel is more quiet in motion and rolls more smoothly than an ordinary polyamide or sandwich wheel.
SAMBA wheel is now available in 125 mm with load capacity of 250 kg. The 100 mm wheel is on the market in Autumn 2006.
